Our Story
From Dreams to Purpose
Inscape Journeys is the culmination of a dream nurtured over years in Bhutan's tourism landscape. Our journey didn't begin in an office, but on dusty trails, village paths, ancient monasteries, and the warm homes of local families.
Along the way, we guided travelers from across the world, sharing Bhutan's stories, its spiritual essence, its humor, simplicity, and extraordinary way of life.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought this question into sharp focus. As borders closed and tourism came to a complete halt, livelihoods were disrupted across Bhutan. Jobs disappeared, and many Bhutanese were compelled to seek opportunities abroad. For nearly three years, communities struggled simply to endure. Yet within this period of uncertainty, clarity emerged. It became evident that a new model of tourism was needed, one rooted in Bhutan's values, responsive to the real challenges faced by its people, and guided by responsibility rather than profit alone.
From this realization, a clearer vision took shape: a company that works with communities, for communities, and contributes meaningfully to nation-building. A company that does not simply bring travelers to Bhutan, but brings hope, opportunity, and purpose to the people who call it home.

The Beginning
Our guiding careers began with a passion for sharing Bhutan's stories, landscapes, and culture. Walking trails, visiting monasteries, and connecting with local families, we discovered the transformative power of travel - not only for visitors but for communities.
2019
Stronger Partnerships
We built lasting relationships with local agents, service providers, artisans, homestays, and village communities. These collaborations became the foundation for immersive and authentic experiences while allowing us to learn and grow alongside Bhutan's vibrant tourism ecosystem.
2020
Navigating Challenges
The COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented disruption. Tourism halted, jobs disappeared, and many faced survival challenges. We supported each other and partner communities, maintaining connections and reimagining a model of travel rooted in people, culture, and sustainability.
2022
Bhutan Reopens
As tourism resumed under careful government policies, we continued guiding journeys while planning Bhutan Mindfulness Center (BMC) to support community well-being, inclusive education, and sustainable livelihoods. Every effort reflected our commitment to Bhutan's values and meaningful tourism.
2023
Bhutan Mindfulness Center
BMC was established to empower communities through youth employment, inclusive education, and rural support programs. Key milestones included accessible classrooms, vocational initiatives, and projects that directly benefited families and children with special needs.
2025
Founding Inscape Journeys
Inscape Journeys officially launched, bringing clarity from years of experience and lessons. Our mission became to create journeys that honor Bhutan's culture, uplift its people, and offer travelers not only transformative, mindful experiences but also bespoke, immersive adventures, designed for exploration, discovery, and a deeper connection with the land and its people.

Our partnership with the Bhutan Mindfulness Center (BMC) lies at the heart of who we are and why we exist. This is not an add-on or corporate gesture - it is a shared purpose, a shared story, and a shared belief that travel can create lasting, meaningful impact in Bhutanese communities.
BMC is a NGO dedicated to nurturing mental well-being, supporting special needs students, empowering youth, strengthening communities, and preserving Bhutan's cultural and spiritual wisdom. Many members of the Inscape Journeys team have been closely involved with BMC for years - as educators, volunteers, program facilitators, and community organizers. Our values are deeply intertwined, and our missions naturally complement one another.
